Great app

Great way to monitor your eating habits so you feel full and satisfied Love the way it also monitor GL and carbs Great if you could export the data!

Love this!!! An Easy Efficient App

Already losing weight!!!

great tool!

i cant find some foods, but it is a good tool

Needs improvement

Cant see the full name of Dodd item in search, makes it difficult to know what your choosing. Need to be able to scroll through categories, not just search

GI tracker

Very poor compared to other diet trackers I have used. Searching the food list is tedious. For example I searched for potato and it gave me all meals it could find that contained the word potato, some of the items repeated several times but I never did find just plain potato to add to my dinner. I wish I had waited for a free app and not wasted my money on this one.

Nice concept... Crappy development

The concept is nice... I only wish it would work. The app crashes frequently when searching. As someone said before, finding something is also tedious. I wish I could get my money back.

Worst App Ever!

This is possibly the worst App ever made. I was so disappointed I deleted it. Save your money. This App will have no value for anyone except the scammer who created it.

Only one like this!

This app is the only one I have found that actually lets me record/keep track of gi and gl. I really like it and use it every day. I do wish I could keep a favorites list though - entering in the same items each time can be quite time consuming!

Tedious, unstable, & lacking in features

As another reviewer said, searching food lists is tedious with a lot of multiple entries for the same foods. Wasted a lot of time searching for basic foods without success. I would say the developers claim of over 8,000 foods is greatly exaggerated. Froze a few times while trying to navigate between windows. I expected that the app would calculate the GI &GL of the basic foods I entered myself when I entered all the other fields, but it doesnt. Im very disappointed and ticked off about wasting my money.

LOW GI (Diet Tracker)

I cant believe the people who are unhappy with this app. Its my all-time favorite and functions well on my iPad. I did have some problems early last year with the memory and wrote the developer about them. They replied right away and went to work fixing it (successfully I might add). It has been working great since then except the graph section, which I have confidence they will soon fix (now that I sent an email requesting a fix or explanation of what Im doing wrong). Ive had no problem entering "custom foods" along with their data and it works perfectly. As for the person who thought the app would calculate the GI & GL of the foods they entered; they do not understand how the Glycemic Index is calculated (only in a lab setting with at least 10 people participating in the experiment involving food consumption and multiple blood tests). There is no magical formula for calculating a foods GI. Find the GI of the food before you enter it (research it online). For anyone planning to change their lifestyle to the Glycemic Index way of eating, this app is absolutely essential. Take the time to research what Glycemic Index is and how it works before passing judgement on the tools youll need to succeed.

Gi app

It would be better if it contained GI info on whole foods and not the extent of processed junk that seem to be the norm Ive had to go on-line to find the GI and GL of most of the food I eat as I follow a whole foods diet.

Awful Search, Incomplete Detail Screen

I was really hoping this app would be good. The screenshots in the App Store were promising BUT that ended up being the best part of the App. The Search function is terrible with no spell checking, no completion, no suggestions as you type. Once you find what youre after and go to the details screen it only shows part of the item in question. ie. The Details Screen for an egg omelette with cheese only shows the egg. This means if you want to track an egg omelette with cheese you need to search and save the egg and the cheese separately. Not Recommended.

Very Impressed

Pretty darn cool app :-) (&, seriously, a low rating bcuz it doesnt spell check ur searches?!? Just enter part of the word then; that works great :-) )

Low GI

I am very happy with the application to date but here are some constructive suggestions. In the daily report, it would be nice to have calories and GI load for each item instead of the total for the day. If you are eating the same type of food and quantity regularly ( e.g.partcular brand of cereal etc.) there should be a quicker way to enter these items in the system. Ability to project Average GI and calorie consumption based on what you are expecting to eat in the day (say at dinner time) will make this app even more valuable. Great work.

Excellent App

This app is great, it is intuitive, easy to use and does everything that it said it would do. I would recommend this app to anyone interested in tracking foods by glycemic index. One suggestion I would make is that the developers consider adding a favorites list so as to avoid looking everything up each time; however the lookup is simple to use

Horrible search function

I just spent $4 on this app, and the search function makes it completely useless. While there are obviously hundreds of items to search through, when I type "almond milk", "almond milk unsweetened", "unsweetened almond milk Almond Breeze", and "almond milk beverage" into the search bar I expect to be able to find at least one mention of almond milk. Instead I scroll through hundreds of listings for chocolate bars with almonds and a creamy almond dressing. I am giving up and deleting this app right now, because it is COMPLETELY USELESS.

Great App

Straightforward, easy to use, nicely presented, very effective. One of the best apps Ive seen. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed

This appears to be an app for people who have little interest or knowledge in healthy eating. The concept is great and the layout is great, but try to find healthy items can be difficult. You would think that things like fresh raspberries would be easy, but all that comes up is raspberry pie!? I am a diabetic; I dont eat that. How about something as common as pure maple syrup? The best it could show me was 2% maple syrup. If the food is too clean or pure, it is probably not on the list. If you shop at health food stores, this app is definitely not for you.

Worst App Ever

Horrible index. Waste of money. Dont buy it. Not even worth a star.

GI averages not right

Noticed that GI values for my own entries do not calculate correctly. eg: smoothie - gi 36, beverage - gi 19. Calclulated GI average for meal = 0. ???
